Aston Martin DB6 MK2 Vantage. ZF manual. 1970

This Mark2 is one of only 65 manual RHD cars manufactured, and has the later VC suffix on the engine number indicating the improved later camshaft profile.

Leaving Newport Pagnell on 25/4/1970 it was registered in Dublin, Ireland, before being exported to New Zealand in 1971 at a mileage of 2,800 miles. The car remained only a short time in NZ until it was imported into Melbourne, and serviced by Emptor Motors Australian Aston Distributors, at 18,048 miles on 8/3/1973.Regular service stamps appear in Qld with the registration number PUW 466 [ Mr W. Carr ] until 32,712 miles on 13/1/1977 when it was purchased by Victorian TAA Captain Colin Haywood.  Colin was a well-known Aston Martin enthusiast /owner, who sold the car to the last owner in 1978 with the appropriate registration number IWX 747.

After a long sojourn of little use, the car was treated to a full engine rebuild in 2005. We supplied many of the parts for the rebuild, and the machining and headwork was all undertaken by Aston Martin experienced business. The receipts for this are on file.

Now having covered only 54,368 miles, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a very original matching numbers DB6 MK2 Vantage with the desirable ZF 5 speed manual gearbox. Finished in the classic DB colour scheme of Silver Birch with a black leather interior, with an unbroken ownership period of nearly 40 years.
