This is one of only 480 built AC cars which were sanctioned and built by Autokraft Ltd under agreement with AC Cars, and long-time ex AC worker Brian Angliss. When Angliss secured the rights to the AC he brought much of the original tooling with him including the bodywork bucks of the then current MK3 version. It was only logical that these newer versions were named the AC MK IV.

Under this name , approximately 480 cars were built using the 302 C.I Ford V8 mated to the 5 speed T5 gearbox.

Importantly these cars, like the originals were skinned in aluminium and constructed in the same manner and utilising the wider 427 bucks.

This car came to Australia in 1984 and was first registered in Victoria to a well known enthusiast. In 1991 the mileage was recorded at 14,181 klms.

With assistance from Dulux Paints ,who were promoting their “Cobra” range of automotive paints, this car competed in the 1994 Dutton Grand Prix Rally.

Having had only 3 owners, one of which held the car for approximately 30 years.

More recently, this AC has been used sparingly , but well serviced and maintained, and now the car has still only covered a further 5,000kms. Additionally fitted with 4 Weber Down draught and collector plate for even greater performance and a Cobra tuned appearance.

Being one of the rarer RHD manufactured cars and in beautiful order these AC MK IV cars are rightly recognized as being a true collectors car.
