Carefully styled and beautifully crafted tribute to the lost Mille Miglia and Le Mans coupes of 1939 and 1940. This chassis (No. 913191) was delivered in 1939 and later mated with a dry sump 2500 SS engine, rebuilt to the highest standard.
The all alloy bodywork has been accurately constructed as per methods utilised by Carrozzeria Touring Milan, being an all-aluminium skin over Superleggera (super light) tube framework.
The basic, yet fundamental interior exemplifies the Touring construction methods. Period correct Alfa Romeo instrumentation, seating and steering wheel complete the competition look.
Developing over 155bhp and coupled to the 4-speed gearbox this imposing Alfa is deceptively light and agile.
The Alloy bodywork completed by Historic and Vintage restorations (HVR) is superb in every detail being hand beaten and wheeled in the correct way.
A full-size timber buck (included with the car), in itself a worthy work of art was built, and the panelling formed the shape in the Touring fashion, with a flawless finish.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire an age correct tribute to a magnificent pre-war Alfa Romeo from the “golden age” of racing and competition cars.
