Alfa Romeo 750D Spyder 1956

Introduced in 1955 these beautiful Pininfarina designed Spyder models are deserved of their true classic status. Beautifully made with excellent handling and time cheating design, one could be forgiven for thinking these cars were of a later era.

This car was completed on 28th July 1956, and was one of only 1008 car manufactured that year. Originally delivered by long time Alfa Concessionaires Max Hoffman in New York USA.

Around 30 years later this Alfa landed in Australia, still in good condition and completely original, and imported by Italian car specialist rebuilders F and Dino Berti of Burnley Victoria.

A Certificate of Origin from Alfa Romeo confirm that this car still retains its original numbers and body colour of Rosso red.

Being a “D” series this is one of the shorter wheelbase cars without quarter vent windows and glove box lid.

Since importation this car has undergone a Rudd speed style conversion to RHD configuration by Alfa marque specialist Vyvian Hirons of the 105 Factory in Melbourne.

On completion the car was displayed at the 1993 Domain Chandon Concours D’elegance.

Purchased by 2 high profile collectors the car then went to Queensland where it was carefully enjoyed and also stored.

Returning to Melbourne in 2016, the car was again given to Alfa specialists for a final refurbishment including a full engine rebuild in 2020.

Various awards have been won by this stunning car, including 2nd place Ribbon at 2018 Motorclassica, 3rd place in AROC of Australia Spettacolo Concours and invitations to other classic events such as The Great Australian Rally.

A file of invoices and receipts is included with car, and many parts have been supplied by Classic Alfa in the UK , including new or rebuilt instruments, lights and switchgear. . Detailing has even included powder coating the road wheels and fitting the correct Michelin XZX tyres.

Not only is this Alfa beautiful to admire , but the quality of the work and maintenance that has been carried out is reflected on the road as well.

This is a true collectors car which is ready and able to be enjoyed.
