Aston Martin DB4 coupe 1960

This rare early specification DB4 was delivered new in Melbourne and has only had 3 long term owners since delivery by AM agents ,Continental and General here on 26/2/1960. Finished in the original Desert White and having matching numbers , this beautiful car has only covered 88,080 miles from new. The mileage at the only other changes of ownership being at 44,464 miles and 68,556 miles.

Between 2006 and 2013 the car was stripped to bare metal and repainted in the original Desert White. The bare alloy skin showed no sign of previous damage ,except for a small section under the front bumper. The frame was in excellent shape structurally as well.

During this time a full engine rebuild was also undertaken by the same experienced Aston marque specialist.
The interior was also re upholstered and this was done by an ex AML trimmer in red Connolly leather.

There are also registration certificates from delivery new ,and photographs of the car during the refurbishment . In addition ,there are detailed invoices and service receipts also dating from new in addition to earlier documentation from AMOC etc.

These early cars with their DB4 GT style door windows, front opening bonnet and slimmer bumpers without over riders, were lighter than the 4 series of DB4 which followed. The purity of design for which Touring of Milan and their Superleggera construction were famed is beautifully demonstrated by the timeless lines of this DB4.
