Aston Martin DB5

Aston Martin DB5

SOLD

Year: 1964

VIN/#: DB5/1655/R

Delivered to Aston Martin Agents, Windway Garages in Cardiff, UK on 24/7/1964 and sold new to BT Rees Ltd of Swansea on 20/8/1964 and Registered CY27. Subsequent UK registration number 444 FS is also recorded.

Subsequently sold to Mr DM Williams of Cardiff circa 1965, then to Commodore Peter Howarth who sold the car in 1969 to Mr G. Bacon who exported the car to Melbourne, Australia in 1970.  The first registered number in Victoria being LSD 180 but later this was changed to AM 755. The mileage was recorded at 57,716 in 1981.

A genuine Aston martin enthusiast, Mr Bacon retained ownership for about 35 years and sold the car in December 2004 via Brooklands Classic cars at a mileage recorded of 114,300 miles.

Although in very original condition, and still wearing its original colour scheme, the DB5 was in need of some attention.

Accordingly, over the past 10 years this DB5 has been fully restored to the highest standard retaining the original colour scheme and incorporating a concealed air conditioning system.

The rebuild included back to alloy repainting, full platform rebuild, fully reconditioned engine, gearbox and drive train, new interior, fully rebuilt suspension and braking systems, electricals and instrumentation, and new wheels and tyres plus a host of other work.

Beautifully sorted and now ready to be enjoyed and admired.

A number of Aston Martin DB5 models have been restored, but not many have been able to retain their original matching numbers and delivery colour schemes.
