The most powerful and luxurious of the big Healey’s this factory RHD MkIII BJ8 was delivered to its original owner of Buckhurst Hall, UK in July of 1965. After changing hands a few times it was eventually purchased by a member of the US Navy who was stationed in the UK, he subsequently exported this Healey to his home town in Alabama and made full use of it for the next decade before going into secure storage.
After arriving in Australia as a very original rust free example in 2008, it underwent an extensive bare metal restoration whilst incorporating some conscientious improvements including Rally style; guard vents, boot lid, scuttle vent, headlights, grille & air vents, alloy Sebring style dash and flared guards.
With a large history file and receipts equating to over AUD$150,000, the additional extras like Ferrari Daytona knock- ons, Air Conditioning, 5 speed gearbox, triple 45 DCOE Weber carburetors, Koni adjustable front shock absorbers with Bilstein rears, period Minilite wheels and a Factory hard top (believed to be 1 of just over 200 ever produced) means that this car not only looks fantastic but is equally as rewarding to drive. A truly unique example with no expense spared.
