Bristol 402 Convertible 1949.
One of only 24 manufactured of which half are thought to exist today, this 402 was delivered new to Melbourne by then Bristol distributors, Commonwealth Motors.
Finished in attractive Silver Blue, which it has been for many years ,with the original tan leather interior and a Navy blue soft top this Bristol has been well maintained and runs very sweetly. Held in one family for the past 42 years, and acquired form a fastidious Bristol enthusiast prior to that.
Included with car is a multiple paged hand written dossier which notes what must have been almost every item fitted, serviced or carried out on the car for the first 24 years, and an article describing it’s ownership with the past owner.
This really is the rarest and most stylish of the early post war Bristol’s, and the 402 was purchased by Royalty and film stars of the period like Jean Seberg, Stewart Granger and Jean Simmons.
