1969 CHEVROLET CORVETTE 427 'BIG BLOCK' ROADSTER WITH HARDTOP

This 1969 Chevrolet 427 Big Block Corvette Roadster was imported into Australia by a South Australian collector in 2007 having been previously residing in Florida, USA with a lady owner.

The Chassis number, 194679S713849 indicated it to be a 400hp roadster built in St Louis with the colour of 972 being Can Am White with 408 Red leather trim. Equipped with a factory hard top.

It was issued with a CAMS group Sb Log Book in 2014 and ran at Sandown in November 2014 with a very competitive lap time of 1.24 sec with a longer than ideal diff ratio of 3.08:1 fitted. Sparingly used since, but last run at the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival in November 2018.

In excellent structural condition, with power steering, and CAMS approved half cage.

Also included are the original wheels, red leather seats, soft top and frame, together with sundry other useful parts.

Accordingly, this “Big Block” Corvette could be returned to fast road car specification with minimal effort, or again be competitively campaigned in the Historic CAMS Group Sb class of Historic circuit racing which is both popular and attracts some of the largest grids all across Australia.

The Group S Racing Association is well established, and a very successful backbone of the category, which offers great support to competitors.
