Iso Rivolta Lele coupe 1974

This Iso Lele was built and delivered new to famous British Cricketer Denis Compton and registered WLY 59M. In 1994 it was imported here by a legendary sporting champion under whose ownership it remained for nearly 28 years. To date only having covered 18,950 miles since delivery , which is reflected more than anywhere else in the still beautiful condition of the interior and leather upholstery. Finished in Azzurro Metallizzato with a matching interior and carpeting, this Lele is one of only 49 cars delivered to UK in RHD configuration. Powered by the proven Ford Cleveland 351 engine ,with around 325BHP on tap and 3 speed automatic transmission.

Reports vary slightly but it is believed 285 of this model were manufactured in total ,and were fitted with either the Chevrolet 350 V8 engine, or Ford 351 V8 as in this car. Unusually in a 2+2 car, this GT really is a 4 seater rather than the occasional tiny rear seating options offered in many cars claiming to have 2+2 seating. A real Grand Touring machine yet powered by a reliable and easily maintained V8 engine , with a well designed front wishbone front end and the rear De Dion set up , with 4 wheel disc brakes.

As time passes all the Iso brand GT models have been more greatly appreciated from the Grifo and Rivolta to the Lele ,combining beautiful Italian coachwork blending so successfully with American V8 power.
