This is the 44th from last 3.8 litre standard engine car of only 83 built in RHD.
Delivered new in UK to Mrs N.L.Wingfield of Ascot, and delivered in automatic configuration, as supplied by Coombs and Sons [Guildford]Ltd.
Imported into Australia in the 1970’s and displayed, wearing the Victorian registration plates JAG 111 at the MGCC Lilydale Concourse in 1977. After some accident repairs, by a Mr John Day, the car had been awarded a trophy at the event. At this time the car had received a correct Jaguar manual gearbox as well.
Sold to a Mr J. Broadbent in September 1979 and then to a Company, Mount Carli Pty Ltd. On 23/8/1990 Tickford Sales [our former trading name] in Hawthorn, purchased the car from Henley Motors Jaguar new car Distributors ,also in Hawthorn at a mileage of 90,601 miles and sold it on to Sports and Vintage Motoring of South Yarra on 17/4/1991 at a similar mileage. The car was then subsequently exported Japan, but found its way back to UK sometime in 2007. Brooklands again purchased the car from Alistair Hackney Pty Ltd in UK in November 2009 at 91,614 miles and imported the car in January 2010.
We sold the car to the last owner on 9th September 2011 after a period of careful storage in our building.
Since that date the car has undergone a thorough refurbishment, including a full bare metal repaint in British Racing Green to a high standard. Included in this was replating, re wiring, re building of the carburettors ,and many other improvements.
New trim and carpets were installed but the original upholstery was in good condition and retained. A full photographic record of the work has been taken, and will be supplied with the car.
Where required, even new panels were imported from Jaguar specialists, Contour Autocraft in Peterborough and fitted to the restored body. The chassis is fully rebuilt.
This XK 150 coupe is now ready for the next decades of its life, and has still only covered 92,466 miles.
Still wearing its original matching Chassis and Engine number, this is an opportunity to enjoy a fine restored, and world travelled, XK 150 with an interesting history and low mileage.
