Built by Jaguar on 30 November 1950 and dispatched to Henly’s of London on 20 December 1950, this factory Right Hand Drive XK120 was first registered in Victoria, Australia around 1974. In 1976 the care was sold and was registered to a Mr Cliff Portwood.
Cliff Portwood was a well-known 1st Division Football player in the UK before coming to Australia where he would become a popular singer and entertainer. Mr Portwood appeared on Television shows as well as recording an Album, “The best of Cliff Portwood”, the cover of which features this XK120 Jaguar.
The car was then sold to James Paul Kirk of Beaumaris in May 1977. With the registration last lapsing in 1985, the car remained in the Kirk family since then having been kept securely garaged for over 3 decades.
Carefully stored, unused and unseen for many years, this XK120 represents a splendid and straightforward opportunity to restore a structurally strong and complete genuine Jaguar XK120 to its former glory. Complete with hood, side curtains and tonneau, and even the full set of 3 keys for bonnet, boot and ignition.
