Sold new by Hoffman Jaguar New York on 19th February 1955 to a Mr RD Weary Jnr of Illinois, and subsequently owned by a Mr M. Simon of Beverley Hills California, this is a matching number XK140 Roadster with the MC Spec 210BHP engine.
Still finished in the original British Racing Green with Biscuit interior and fitted with matching body colour knock on wire wheels.
Imported into Australia in October 2011 after purchase from Heritage Motors in California.
A pre purchase inspection by Memory Lane supports the matching number, even down to the carburettors and reported the car to be in good condition.
After importation the car was converted to RHD by Mike Roddy Jaguar, at the same time being fitted with a fully rebuilt Overdrive gearbox, which was optional equipment in any case.
This XK has two very comprehensive sets of history and receipt folders which entail the Jaguar parts and maintenance work carried out over the past 10 years by the sole Australian owner.
A Jaguar Heritage Certificate, which support the car’s MC engine and matching numbers is also included together with the drivers handbook.
This is a beautiful XK140 in the most desirable specification which is a delight to drive.
