This wonderfully patinated XK 140 was manufactured on June 22 1956 and was delivered to New York and first sold on 9th July 1956, via Hornburg Jaguar Distributors of Los Angeles California.

Originally finished in attractive and very 50’s Arbour Green , which was a one year only colour. Only 183 cars were so finished, of which 73 were OTS roadster versions. Many years ago the car was repainted in the current metallic blue, however the original paintwork is evident here and there if you look carefully. The original black leather upholstery is still intact and quite useable with more recent black carpeting.

Being an SE, Special Equipment version it features wire wheels and a “C” type head. This car also still retains the matching numbers , including the engine block and cylinder head.
Repatriated to Australia about 4 years ago from Oregan USA where it had been located after being in in covered storage there since August 1981.
After arrival here the XK was brought up to good running condition which has included a full brake overhaul, the fitting of a set of new correct 16” chrome wire wheels and tyres, a radiator overhaul and servicing as required.

On the road this car drives very well , it is smooth and feels tight and responsive.

There are several ways to consider this car . You can enjoy it as is , or perhaps undertake a rolling restoration. Alternatively undertake a full restoration, perhaps taking it back to the classic Arbour Green finish. Either way this is a very solid and original XK 140 which offers several attractive options. Supplied with Heritage Certificate, Vehicle Permit and copy of Oregan title. C/N S 812600.
