Mercedes Benz 190SL Roadster 1959

This 190SL has been dry stored since last registered in 1991. Australian delivered and one of only 562 Factory RHD cars out of 25,881 manufactured make this a fantastic and worthwhile restoration.

A totally matching number car , including the original NSW Distributors Merna Motors plate, it was previously registered in NSW KJH 652 . The mileage recorded is 71,684 miles which may have been around the clock.

Currently this car does not run, and in view of the work required, would be best to remove the engine for checking in any case .

Why it was quickly painted in bright blue , with the wheels on, is a mystery , as originally the car was finished in the delicious and traditional colour scheme of Silver Grey with a maroon leather interior. A serious restorer would surely retain this colour scheme.

The soft top is serviceable but in vinyl, however the frame is intact and working. The door trims and other brightwork are with car as well as the original drivers handbook.

The 190SL is an iconic Mercedes Benz classic , and this is a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine car with the right credentials.
