MGTC roadster 1949

Built on 23/8/1949 this TC had one owner for over 60 years. Originally delivered in NSW and has remained there until recently.

Repainted from the original dark red to blue in the 1970’s , but only to the exterior panels. For example, under the bonnet and wings still reveal the original finish. This would make a fairly straightforward return to the original livery for anyone wishing to do this.

The original “Salt and Pepper” hood and side screens are with the car, as well as the tools and jack etc.

This car could be called a running barn find to some extent. Yet mechanically it drives like a dream and the engine sounds sweet and is responsive.
Old tyres certainly bare testament to the long ownership and need replacement.

The interior is in fair shape , and all intact with patina in most places including the instrument dials. Currently, floor carpets are not fitted.

However, this TC is a very good and sound car which would respond to cosmetic attention more than anything, but at the same time could be used as it is , while undertaking a rolling restoration.

The original type owners handbook, and a workshop manual, and parts catalogue are included together with about 20 copies of the T Type MG magazine from 1970 until the mid 80’s plus copies of various “T “ registers from those dates.
